Commissioner attends Awards ceremony

10fed Mai 2013

Awards were being presented to officers and staff who have been outstanding in their profession and also to some who have shown extraordinary acts of courage; teams of officers and staff were awarded for their expertise and determination when investigating complex investigations and officers were also awarded for successfully tackling illegal drug supplies as well as investigating complex murders.

Others were awarded for their achievements in a support capacity: for partnership working; work with voluntary agencies; work within communities and also, for delivering innovative solutions to support improvements in the way offenders are brought to justice as well as the way the force communicates with members of the public.

Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner Ian Johnston said: "These awards recognise the efforts of individuals and teams who make me extremely proud of Gwent Police. The citations show that we are all working towards a common goal: to improve our service to the public we serve and make a real contribution to their quality of life. These events provide us with an opportunity to thank officers, staff and volunteers and members of the public for their achievements."
