The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 allows the Police and Crime Commissioner, under section 18(1), to appoint a a Deputy. A report was submitted to the Police and Crime Panel on the 28th December 2012 with the appointment endorsed at a confirmation hearing on the 11th January 2013.

As part of the work undertaken towards the introduction of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the four Welsh Police Authorities agreed to revise and update a number of key Human Resources policies to ensure they were fit for purpose and suitable for use under the Police and Crime Commissioner. The Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy was previously approved on an all Wales basis on 30th March 2012 and by Gwent Police Authority on the 28th May 2012 and has been adhered to since this date.

As part of the work undertaken towards the introduction of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the four Welsh Police Authorities agreed to revise and update a number of key Human Resources policies to ensure they were fit for purpose and suitable for use under the Police and Crime Commissioner. The Attendance Management Policy and Procedure was previously approved on an all Wales basis on 30th March 2012 and by Gwent Police Authority on the 28th May 2012 and has been adhered to since this date.
