After approval from the Police and Crime Panel on 11th November 2013, the Commissioner has appointed Mr Jeffery John Farrar as Chief Constable of gwent Police.

The Commissioner agreed to extend the current contract with Dave's Body Shop and Chris Spieri and Sons for 12 months in accordance with paragraph 125 of the Manual of Governance.

The Commissioner accepts and notes the annual monitoring report and commends it to the Welsh Language Commissioner.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.

After scrutiny by the Joint Audit Committee on the 19th September 2013, the Commissioner has approved the Annual Treasury Management Activity Report and Actual Prudential Indicators for 2012/13.

The Home Secretary requires a draft transfer letter outlining the proposed approach to staff transfers in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 10 and 13 to 16 of Schedule 15 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. The information contained in the Stage Two Transfer Letter has been subjected to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998 and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent’s public interest test and is deemed to be exempt from publication under section 4.

To facilitate the recruitment of high quality officers to the rank of Chief Constable, a relocation package is available to the successful candidate who relocates their home to Gwent upon appointment.
