Welcome to the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Community Engagement Fund
Are you delivering projects that help increase confidence and trust in public services for marginalised and minoritised communities across Gwent, with a focus on race, disability, gender and sexual orientation? The Community Engagement Fund is here to support third sector and community interest organisations working towards the first objective of the Strategic Equality Plan which is a pivotal foundation of the Police, Crime and Justice Plan. With grants ranging from up to £5,000, this fund is designed to improve community cohesion throughout Gwent.
Why Apply?
- Flexible Funding: Apply for grants up to £5,000 to support your project’s delivery, representing or serving marginalised and / or minoritised communities.
- Partnership Working: Work with us towards increasing community cohesion and deepening collaborative community partnerships, strengthening relationships.
- Public Recognition: Raise awareness of your work through promotional opportunities and partnership visibility.
Who Can Apply?
- We welcome applications from not-for-profit organisations whose work contributes to the first objective of the Strategic Equality Plan: Increase confidence and trust in public services for marginalised and minoritised communities, with a specific focus on race, disability, gender, and sexual orientation.
This includes charities, voluntary organisations and community interest companies looking to deliver projects that must:
- Represent or serve marginalised and/or minoritised communities as set out in the Strategic Equality Plan;
- Support activities taking place within Gwent or significantly benefit communities and residents of Gwent; and
- Help improve community cohesion through shared-experience and interaction.

How to Apply
Applying is simple:
- Download the Guidance & Application Form
- Complete Your Application: Provide clear details about your project and how it supports the first objective of the Strategic Equality Plan
- Submit Your Application: Email your completed form to engagement@gwent.police.uk
When to apply?
- Rolling Applications: There is no fixed deadline. However, once the fund is fully allocated, applications will be paused until the next financial year.
- Award timescales: Applications are reviewed and notifications of decisions provided within approximately 4 weeks.
