The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has commemorated Remembrance Day at a ceremony at the Gwent Police headquarters in Cwmbran.
He said: “Gwent was not immune to the impact of the Great War, nor other conflicts since.
“Our communities are full of veterans who risked their lives and saw friends and comrades make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
“These are not just older members of our communities, but younger ones too. All deeply affected by the ravages of war. We have a duty to recognise this and support them.
“I would like to take a moment and thank those veterans, and their families, for the important service they have given to their country.”
