Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent receives top award

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Gwent has received a national award for transparency for the fifth year in a row.

The Quality Mark is awarded to the OPCCs which are able to demonstrate that they provide the public with key information, in accessible formats, on their website.

It is awarded by Comparing Police and Crime Commissioners, an independent national body that monitors police governance, and is sponsored by police assurance provider Grant Thornton.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert said: “I am delighted that my office has had its efforts to meet statutory transparency requirements recognised for the fifth year in a row.

“This award demonstrates that my team are doing their very best to conduct business openly, honestly and transparently, and to ensure that key information is made available to residents in an accessible way.”
