Gwent police officers recognised for bravery

Two Gwent police officers have been recognised with a national award for the outstanding bravery they displayed while saving two women from a water buffalo at a Gwent farm.
PC Owain Smallwood and PC Mark Burbidge were named as regional winners at the Police Bravery Awards 2021.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert said: “These two police officers put themselves at extreme risk to save the lives of others and I am pleased that their bravery has been recognised with a national award.
“I would like to thank them for their continued service, and all they do every day to keep residents safe.”
