Gwent Police continue to tackle serious organised crime

9th June 2020

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert, said:

“I was pleased to see Gwent Police continuing to tackle serious and organised crime. Despite the challenges presented by Covid19 I am reassured that Gwent Police continue to tackle serious and organised crime. Seventeen raids took place in Newport this week with 15 people arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs as part of Operation Jigsaw.

I am proud to see officers continuing to protect our communities from the most serious and damaging crimes that have such a negative impact on many lives.

Information from communities is vital in the fight against serious organised crime. To report illegal drug supply or use, no matter how small the detail, call 101, send a direct message to our Gwent Police social media pages or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
