Student officers graduate
Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert, has welcomed 38 new police officers into Gwent Police.
The officers have completed their training and will now be deployed with policing teams across Gwent’s five counties.
They form part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s commitment to increase police officer numbers in Gwent.
Jeff Cuthbert said: “The public understandably want to see more police on the streets and I am proud that there are now more than 270 new police officer posts in Gwent than when I first became Commissioner in 2016.
“These new recruits have worked hard during their training, and the hard work, dedication and commitment they have shown is to be commended.
“I know that these new officers will strive to do all they can to help ensure that Gwent continues to be a safe place to live, work and visit.”
