Strategy and Performance Board

He said: “My quarterly Strategy and Performance Board is where I hold Gwent Police to account for their performance against my Police and Crime Plan.

“An important part of the agenda for the recent meeting was Gwent Police’s response to Covid19. Policing a pandemic is incredibly complex and hasn’t been helped by different regulations in England and Wales.

“It’s been a difficult balancing act. However, I am reassured that Gwent Police’s response throughout, both in terms of looking after the welfare of its own staff and its approach to the public, has been commendable.

“I also scrutinised improvements that Gwent Police is making to the service it offers victims, and a new crime prevention strategy for the force.”
