Police Unity Tour

Family, friends and colleagues congregated at Gwent Police headquarters this morning to wave off the 20 Police Officers taking part in this year’s Police Unity Tour.

The annual charity cycle ride held to raise awareness of Officers who have died in the line of duty and to raise funds for Care of Police Survivors, will see the Gwent team cycle 180 miles from their HQ in Cwmbran to the National Arboretum in Staffordshire.

The cyclists were also joined on the start line by temporary Chief Constable Pam Kelly and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Eleri Thomas who praised those participating on their efforts and wished them well on their journey.

Care of Police Survivors is a U.K charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty.
