PCC puts Newport residents’ questions to Chief Constable

16th June 2026

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd held her latest Public Accountability Forum with Chief Constable Mark Hobrough to discuss issues affecting communities in Newport.

The Commissioner’s Public Accountability Forum provides a platform for Commissioner Mudd to highlight key concerns raised by communities across Gwent and bring them directly to the attention of the Chief Constable.

The latest forum was recorded at the University of South Wales’s Newport campus and included questions about safety in the city centre, anti-social behaviour, and the work Gwent Police is doing to support women and girls. It is available to view on the Commissioner’s website and social media channels.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “My Public Accountability Forum gives residents the opportunity to raise their questions and concerns directly with the Chief Constable.

“Through open, honest and transparent discussions, we are ensuring residents’ voices are heard and that they play an active role in shaping policing in Gwent.”
