PCC Announces More Surgeries

21st March 2014

Engagement with the public is a top priority for Ian Johnston and the public surgeries provide a golden opportunity for people who have any questions or observations about Policing in their area to come and meet the Commissioner face to face. They can raise any comments or questions they may have around policing and hold him to account.

A surgery will be held at the following locations:

  1. Tuesday April 1st2014 (10:00am - 12:00pm), Moose Hall, Lower Coronation Street, Tredegar
  2. Tuesday April 15th 2014 (10:00am - 12:00pm) Hollybush and Coed Eva Community Centre, Hollybush Way, Cwmbran
  3. Tuesday April 22nd 2014 (18.00 - 20.00) Raglan Junior School Recreational hall, Chepstow Road, Raglan

Highlighting the importance of the surgeries, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Ian Johnston, said: "The surgeries have proved to be very useful and they are a fantastic way of interacting with the public. The number of people attending these surgeries has varied from location to location but the comments and observations we've received so far about policing and crime provide a very useful barometer as to the health of policing in various areas of Gwent.

These surgeries are an opportunity for people to come and tell us if we're not doing well but they are also an opportunity for people to come and tell us when we're doing a good job. I want to be visible to the people of Gwent so I can listen to what matters to them locally and that's why engaging with the public is and always will remain paramount."

The surgeries will be an hour for group discussions and a further hour will be made for one to one sessions if required. To register your interest in attending the surgery or to book a one to one session with Ian Johnston, please email maria.chapman@gwent.pnn.police.uk or telephone 01633 647 005
