Maindee Festival 2023

7th July 2023

I was delighted to attend Maindee Festival with the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Eleri Thomas.

We were joined by officers from Gwent Police Diversity and Inclusion Team and, the local neighbourhood team.

The outside space of Maindee Primary School was transformed into a buzzing festival space.

I was delighted to see the community coming together to deliver such an important event. People of all ages gathered to celebrate the annual event in a safe and welcoming space.

It was great to see the community benefiting from information and advice from a variety of organisations.

Events like Maindee Festival allow me to listen to communities and help me understand how people are feeling, which helps me gather information of any issues that are taking place.

I act on any concerns or issues raised and share them with the Chief Constable of Gwent Police or if it is not a policing matter with colleagues in other public services such as local councils or the health board.

I look forward to attending more events during the summer, my team will be at Pontypool Park and Abergavenny Youth Festival on Saturday 8 July.
