Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner attends Youth Summit
Over fifty people attended the event which was organised by Youth Services from across Gwent and supported by the Council for Wales of Voluntary Youth Services.
The event was also attended by local police officers.
Mr Johnston encouraged the young people to share their views and ideas with him to ensure their needs are reflected in his policing plan: "I would like to thank the young people for attending and speaking with me; I hope they found it as useful as I did. These opportunities for engagement are crucial if we are to improve our services for them. We spoke frankly about their concerns and how things could be improved. Young people really are keen to take part in consultation in an environment that they feel safe in and if they feel that their voice is being heard. I have actions that I need to take forward and I look forward to reporting back to them when we meet again in three months time"
