Gwent PCC Praises New Survivor Engagement Post

10th October 2019

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert, has expressed his delight at the creation of a new Survivor Engagement Coordinator post this week.

The post, the first of its kind in Wales, has been created by Gwent Police following recommendations from the PCC’s office to establish a sustainable survivor engagement framework through which survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence can share their lived experience.

Speaking following the announcement, Mr Cuthbert said, “I am delighted to welcome the new role of Survivor Engagement Coordinator to Gwent.

“This forward thinking post will act as the vital link between survivors of abuse and strategic partners, providing them with the opportunities to influence positive change within policies and procedures.

“Supporting all victims of crime is a fundamental priority within my Police and Crime Plan. This new Survivor Engagement Coordinator will help us to ensure that we deliver that in an effective and inclusive way.”

Recruitment for the new post is currently being undertaken by Gwent Police. If you are interested in learning more, or for details on how to apply, visit http://bit.ly/30Majv4
