Good afternoon,

Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

Two duties are placed on public authorities under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Notwithstanding applicable exemptions, the first duty at, Section 1(1) (a), is to confirm or deny whether the information specified in a request is held. The second duty at, Section1 (1) (b), is to disclose information that has been confirmed as being held. Under the provisions of those sections of the FOIA, we can confirm that the information you seek is partly held by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent.

You have requested the following information:

  1. a) How much has been paid by the force to LQCs between the above dates for payment for their role as an LQC at police misconduct hearings please  provide a total figure 
    There were no dates provided when the FOI was submitted.  A request was sent asking for the timeframe but no response was received.  Therefore we have been unable to respond to this question.  I would also like to clarify that the police force do not make payments to LQCs, payments are made by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).
  2. b) How many LQCs are at the forces disposable as of the 28th of October 2022.

How much has been paid by the force to Independent Panel Members  between the above dates for payment for their role as Independent Panel Members at police misconduct hearings

There were no dates provided when the FOI was submitted.  A request was sent asking for the timeframe but no response was received.  Therefore we have been unable to respond to this question.  I would also like to clarify that the police force do not make payments to Independent Panel Members, payments are made by the OPCC.
