PCC Jane Mudd interviews Welsh Government’s VAWDASV advisor
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd recently interviewed Johanna Robinson, the Welsh Government’s Advisor for Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse, and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV).
During the conversation, the Commissioner explored Johanna’s role and the work being carried out across Wales by the Welsh Government and its partners to address issues related to VAWDASV.
The interview was recorded during the week of White Ribbon Day, a national campaign aimed at ending violence against women and girls. It is available to view on the Commissioner’s website and social media channels.
Jane Mudd said: “I would like to thank Johanna for taking the time to speak with me and share insights into her role and the work she is doing with the Welsh Government to tackle VAWDASV across Wales.
“The facts are shocking. Each year, at least one in twelve women and girls in the UK experiences violence or abuse. Three in five women face sexual harassment, bullying, or verbal abuse in the workplace. Most disturbingly, more than 100 women are killed by men every year.
“While this remains the reality, I am grateful that we have someone like Johanna standing up for women and girls in Wales and ensuring their voices are heard.”
