Commissioner holds latest Accountability and Assurance Board
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd has held the latest meeting of her Accountability and Assurance Board.
The board is the Commissioner’s mechanism for promoting transparency, scrutinising police performance and policies, and addressing the issues that matter most to residents.
Jane Mudd said: “I have been elected to hold the Chief Constable of Gwent Police to account for the service he delivers to the people of Gwent. It is important that this process is open and transparent, and that residents can see the work taking place on their behalf.
“Developing a more robust scrutiny process and making it publicly accessible is just one of the ways I am working to increase direct accountability while building trust and confidence between the police and our residents.”
