Commissioner addresses Safer Communities Conference

20th March 2026

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd addressed partners from across the criminal justice system at the annual Safer Communities Conference.

Organised by the Wales Safer Communities Network, the event brought together practitioners to share best practice and strengthen collaborative efforts to improve community safety across Wales.

Delegates explored a range of key issues, including extremism and online harms, criminal exploitation, and the vital role of early intervention in building safer, more resilient communities.

Jane Mudd said: “The community safety challenges faced by communities across Wales are complex and continually evolving, which is why it is so important to bring together representatives from policing, local authorities, Welsh Government and the third sector.

“By sharing good work, emerging insights and best practice, we can continue to strengthen our collective approach to keeping people safe and ensuring communities feel supported, protected and confident in the services that are there to support them.”
