1.       Could you please tell me the PCC’s annual salary and whether this has remained the same since the post was created in 2012?

 

2.       How many members of staff did your office have when it was created in November 2012, and what was the annual salary cost at that time?

 

3.       How many members of staff does your office have as of now, January 2020, and what is the current annual salary cost?

 

4.       How many members of staff are paid an annual salary of more than £100,000 as of now, January 2020?

Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

 

Two duties are placed on public authorities under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Notwithstanding applicable exemptions, the first duty at, Section 1(1) (a), is to confirm or deny whether the information specified in a request is held. The second duty at, Section1 (1) (b), is to disclose information that has been confirmed as being held. Under the provisions of those sections of the FOIA, we can confirm that the information you seek is partly held by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent. 1.             Could you please tell me the PCC’s annual salary and whether this has remained the same since the post was created in 2012?

 

The PCC’s salary has increased to from £70,000 to £71,400 since 2012.  The increase took effect from May 2019.  The PCC’s salary is determined by the Government after recommendations from the Senior Salary Review Body.

There were 20 members of staff working in the OPCC (including the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner) in January 2020. 

 

 Annual salary costs for the office based on January 2020 figures would be £832,735.31

 

 

 

In February 2020 the above link was amended as a temporary post that was filled with a seconded staff member from Gwent Police (Public Response Assistant) was removed from the OPCC due to changes in the police complaints system, therefore staff numbers have now decreased and annual cost would be £804,712.46. 

 

4.         How many members of staff are paid an annual salary of more than £100,000 as of now, January 2020?

5.         How many members of staff has the office employed since November 2012 and what is the total salary cost of this?

 

 The total number of staff employed since November 2012 to January 2020 is as follows:
