The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to further fund Umbrella Cymru to continue to provide an interim children and young people's victim service within Connect Gwent.
The provision of victims services to children and young people is being expanded and improved and as such a new tender process is being progressed. There has been a delay in progressing the tender release and as such Umbrella Gwent will provide the service for a further period of 4 months from 10th July 2018 for a total cost of £12,000. The increase in cost is due to the expansion of the current roles reflecting their success.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to provide £9,552.92 of funding to Victim Support for 6 months to increase capacity to process referrals and make contact with victims.
There is to be a new Invitation To Tender (ITT) issued from 2019 which will fully take into account the requirements of the entirety of services in Connect Gwent.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to fund the seven Crime Prevention Panels in Gwent each to the sum of £1,000 to assist them in running local crime prevention initiatives in support of the Police and Crime Commissioner's priorities.
