Joint Community Engagement Strategy

Joint Community Engagement Strategy (May 2015)

We recognise that we must continually strive to improve the ways in which we engage and consult with our communities.

The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 requires the Commissioner to obtain the views of the community, and in particular the views of victims of crime, about matters concerning policing in Gwent.

The Commissioner is also required to obtain the views of local people and victims of crime before issuing the police and crime plan and the police precept (the police part of local Council Tax).

By working together, the Commissioner's office and Gwent Police will continue to consult with our communities and take their views into account.
