Getting Involved

Getting involved with your Police and Crime Commissioner

There are a number of ways you can get involved with the work of your Police and Crime Commissioner.

Independent Custody Visiting Scheme

We run an Independent Custody Visiting Scheme which sees volunteers go into police custody units to check on the welfare of detainees and the facilities they are held in.

Animal Welfare Scheme

The scheme provides an independent check on the condition and welfare of police dogs in Gwent.

Consultation

We run a number of consultation activities throughout the year to inform and involve communities in decision-making about their local police service.

Public Events

An informal way to meet your Commissioner, find out more about his role and discuss what matters to you.
